Launch of Video Systems' new HORIZON EUROPE project called LASERWAY
Video Systems is pleased to announce the launch of the European collaborative project Horizon Europe LaserWay. The project brings together a consortium of 16 partners and is coordinated by IDEKO in Spain. Video Systems will contribute to the design and development of vision systems to implement fast and precise controls for the final improvement of laser-based production processes.
The LaserWay project aims to revolutionize the manufacturing industry by replacing conventional, inefficient, and environmentally harmful methods with highly flexible production lines based on high-speed laser technology. Laser cutting, laser micro-drilling, and high-speed laser material deposition (EHLA) are the three selected laser manufacturing technologies for their potential to create more sustainable manufacturing processes and products.
The project focuses on the development of WayFASTER machines to improve the performance of laser technologies through lightweight designs, vibration control techniques, and tailored program optimizations for high-speed laser applications. WayBETTER Photonics aims to ensure precise laser beam delivery at extreme speeds, targeting three laser technologies with unique requirements. The WaySTRONGER integration concept aims to enhance the sustainability, resilience, and flexibility of current manufacturing processes by integrating new technologies at both mechanical and digital levels.
The success of the project will provide a competitive advantage to industries such as automotive and aerospace, reducing processing times, improving material utilization, and enhancing the quality of the final product. The advances made by the LaserWay project will promote innovation in high-speed laser processing, consolidating Europe’s position as a global leader in advanced manufacturing technologies. The LaserWay project is a European initiative funded by the Horizon Europe framework program (HORIZON).

The Role of Video Systems
As part of the project, Video Systems will design and develop new vision applications specifically dedicated to controlling and monitoring high-speed, high-precision laser production processes, particularly adapting to the demanding requirements resulting from the planned objectives for laser micro-drilling and cutting.
Video Systems will leverage its extensive experience and advanced expertise to adapt its technological solutions in the field of artificial vision and artificial intelligence to meet the expectations of high productivity and flexibility anticipated by the technical advancements expected from this innovative project.
We are excited to be part of this technological adventure that will present us with new challenges to face and solve, aided by the collaboration and support of our consortium partners.
